Services

How Does NCI REALLY make the Service fit the person?

Once a referral has been made to New Challenges and the person has been accepted, steps are taken to make a placement as perfect as possible by:

  • Finding optimal roommates
  • Making any necessary adaptations to the home (e.g. ramps, accessible baths)
  • Contracting for special healthcare services if they are required (e.g.  Special nursing assistance for diabetes, spinal cord injuries, seizure behaviors and more)
  • Developing behavioral programming if needed using two behavior analysts who are well versed in cognitive-behavioral therapies

NCI develops homes and related services for people with:

  • Developmental Disabilities
  • Acquired Brain Injuries
  • Other emotional and cognitive disorders

NCI  serves people who are eligible for services under Home and Community-based Services or Private Party pay:

  • MR/RC
  • CADI
  • TBI

Given the unique nature of our services and the people who receive them there is a wonderful variety of settings. Here are some examples:

  • 2 and 3 bedroom apartments in quiet suburban apartment complexes with pools, meeting rooms and other amenities
  •  beautiful town homes
  • well-maintained free-standing homes
  • in-home services
  • Sites located across Dakota, Washington, southern Hennepin, Wright, Douglas and Chisago counties
